SUBHADRA

SUBHADRA is the flagship scheme of the Government of Odisha, designed to empower women through direct financial support, enhance their socio-economic well-being, and promote financial inclusion. The scheme aims to strengthen the financial independence of eligible women, improve their participation in household decision-making, and encourage their active engagement in economic activities.

Under the scheme, eligible women in the age group of 21 to 60 years, receive financial assistance of ₹50,000 over a period of five years, with an annual entitlement of ₹10,000 disbursed in two instalments. The instalments are released on International Women’s Day (8th March) and Rakhi Purnima each year. The assistance is transferred directly into beneficiaries’ Aadhaar-seeded and DBT-enabled bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) & CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) system.

Since its launch, more than 1 crore women beneficiaries have received assistance under SUBHADRA, making it one of the largest women-centric financial empowerment initiatives in the State.

SUBHADRA reflects the Government of Odisha’s commitment to building a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous society by investing in the dignity, security, and aspirations of women. Through technology-driven implementation, transparent beneficiary management, and continuous outreach, the scheme strives to ensure that its benefits reach every eligible woman across the State.
