Shakti Sadan is a dedicated shelter home initiative aimed at providing safe accommodation, protection, and rehabilitation support to women in distress, including survivors of gender-based violence, trafficking, and other vulnerable situations. Shakti Sadans initiative ensures a secure and supportive environment for women requiring immediate care and assistance.
The scheme provides integrated services such as shelter, medical care, legal aid, psycho-social counselling, and livelihood support, enabling women to regain confidence and reintegrate into society with dignity. The programme works in coordination with law enforcement agencies, healthcare institutions, and social welfare organizations to ensure comprehensive rehabilitation and support. 68 Shakti Sadan s are currently operational across 30 district in the state.
